anatomy of living things

works by brigitte bouquet

My work explores the Anatomy of Living Things, the essential elements that form the whole.

Drawn to nature's patchwork of textures, colors and structures, I translate its quiet architecture into form.

Through ceramics and natural materials, I explore the space between fragment and whole, surface and structure, the handmade and the living world.

Two ceramic figures from the GOBI series by Brigitte Bouquet, each approximately eighteen inches tall. Vivid and richly textured, one figure with an orange ceramic head, one with white, their arms formed from driftwood sticks
